Mami Y. Takeda was born in Tokyo, Japan as the first child of a 13 generation pharmaceutical family. Mami studied music at Ferris Women’s College in Yokohama. After graduating, she taught at Yamaha Music School and played flute and electric organ on a concert level. She then worked as a secretary for professors at Tokyo University.
Mami moved to Hawaii in 1988, the same year she married, and worked as a secretary for the Dean of Chaminade University. She joined Choi International in 1998. Fluent in both Japanese and English, Mami has represented many Japanese clients and is known for providing excellent customer service sensitive to cultural needs and expectations.
Mami served as the National Association of Realtors’ President’s Liaison to Japan for two years, and has earned prestigious real estate designations including CIPS-Certified International Property Specialist and CRS-Certified Residential Specialist. She is a member of the National Association of Realtors, Hawaii Association of Realtors, Honolulu Board of Realtors and Hawaii International Real Estate Council.
A mother of two, Mami enjoys Japanese calligraphy and golfing at Waialae Country Club.
